A little bird got in the poolhouse. Nevermind that the entire southern wall is all doors, the little thing just kept wanting to smash into the side window.

I took the kids to school this morning where we got to get some books, eat donuts (not me) and have some coffee (not them).

The kids got up very early to see what the Easter bunny brought them. They were pretty excited about looking for eggs, too, but eventually they got a little pooped (probably because they got up so early).

We were heading out to a miniature golf place when we happened upon this carnival that was just getting set up. Some of the rides weren’t operational yet, and they weren’t the scariest rides ever, but it was a nice surprise.

It was a beautiful night to top off a beautiful day, and the kids decided we were going to go swimming and have a fire. I decided that the water was just a tad too cold for me, but they had fun swimming while I tended to the fire. They were pretty interested in that fire once they got out of the water.

There was a first annual “fun run” at the kids’ school today. They were so excited about it and they all wanted to do the 5K run. We did pretty well, especially considering how few people who were at the event even participated in the run. It was pretty hilly, but we stayed together and we all made good time and got some great exercise. Later, they had 1-mile runs, divided by class, and the kids (and I) did one of those, too. We were one of the only families to do both of the runs (it was supposed to be a “one or the other” kind of thing). Congrats to my troopers!
