We bake lots of cookies around this house, but today the kids insisted they wanted cookies with icing, which we almost never do. It was a gooey but fun mess, and I think the cookies were a hit:
I found some real party poppers at the store, and decided that since the ones we had at New Year’s were pretty much party poopers, that we could try these out today. They were pretty loud, but no nail clippers inside:
The kids really wanted to go to the Parthenon, so we went to West End for lunch at Maggiano’s and then hit the park. It was an awesome day to be outside. We also went in to see the statue (which personally I find to be just a tad creepy) and played outside.
There was a big walk at the kids’ school today to encourage exercise, so we went and had a good time. After we did our walking, we went exploring on the outdoor trail they have there.
Lauren predicted on Friday that we would get a big snow over the weekend and they wouldn’t have school “Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.” I have to admit that I didn’t believe her, but she proved me wrong. Here’s a snowman that the kids built with the many inches of snow we’ve had:
