We did Lauren’s science fair project today. She came up with the idea based upon a booth we saw at the Adventure Science Center a couple weeks ago. It went really well. She was really into following careful steps, making measurements and writing them down. We even put it all on the poster board today (the instructions said it had to be typed, so I helped her with all the computer stuff). It was really a fun project.

Jake and Beth had their first communion today. For those keeping score, Jake took the bread first, but somehow Beth got to do the wine before him, so it was all even. There were no photos allowed during the mass (not that the rules influenced half the people there), but here are a few I took after it was over:

Lauren got an organizer with a picture frame in it and wanted a picture of her with Dixie and Abby. She had trouble keeping the dogs still for the picture, but here’s the best one we got:

We then went through some older pictures and got together four pictures that she really liked (for her four frames):

Beth also had a need for some pictures (to go in small frames around a mirror she got). Here are the three we did together:

We didn’t get a lot of pictures, but we had a huge home-made feast for dinner tonight, including Honey Baked Ham, corn, fruit salad, green beans in mushroom sauce, home made biscuits, a vegetable tray, homemade cookies and cupcakes.

Easter morning brought lots of hidden eggs and baby-duck shaped pancakes.

Like most families, I assume, we celebrated the birthday of Jane Goodall tonight. Beth is a very big fan of hers.

We never actually closed the pool for winter. Today was the first day of 2010 that anyone actually went in it.

The Easter Bunny apparently brought scooters (and a meat-filled feast) on Good Friday. Tonight we went out and played on the scooters and went for a very long walk, which was a lot of fun.
