Here are a couple of pictures I took of the kids this morning, for no particular reason. They are obviously thrilled about the idea of getting their picture taken. I thought they turned out nice, though:

The end of the year party for the Brentwood YMCA Seahawks was tonight. They had it outside by the pool, which was a nice change from past years. The kids all got a bunch of ribbons and medals, and Beth won the Point Leader award for 6 and under girls, which was a nice surprise (well, not so nice for Jake, but that’s another story…)

Each of the kids had earned a free ticket to any Six Flags park from some of the reading they had done during the school year, so we went to Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville today and had a great time. It wasn’t crowded at all. Here are some of our pictures:

We rode this ride, the Rainbow, and several hours later it had to be closed down because some had been hurt the same day on the same ride in Sweden:

Jake and Beth do most of their swimming tomorrow, but today was the county championship for 7 and 8 year olds. Jake and Beth each got to swim breast stroke today, because it’s not offered for 6 year olds. Jake also got to swim in a relay. Lauren had her best swimming day ever, winning heat ribbons in 4 of the 6 events in which she competed.

We went to Holiday World with the Soltis family and had a great time. We spent most of the day in the water park (where I didn’t bring the camera) and we got to go on all of the slides and had a lot of fun.

There was a swim meet at the Williamson County Rec Center (where the championships will be held) today, and the kids did really well. Bradford and Michelle were there as well. I took lots of pictures:
